Regional imbalances

A regional imbalance implies uniform, distribution of planned investment among different regions in the nation. It requires a distribution of investment in such a manner that the regional rates of growth be equal, thus eliminating regional disparities of growth. To diminish regional disparities, it is necessary that the backward regions should plan to have a higher rate of growth than the developed ones. Balanced regional development may be advocated both on economic and non economic grounds.
